“ Stopped here late Friday night after a concert. They seated us upstairs immediately and it was only a few minutes for them to get things ready downstairs at the speakeasy (I guess I’ll follow other reviewers example and keep the details of getting in to myself .) Upstairs is actually really cute and I’d be happy to eat there sometime - the whole speakeasy thing was just too awesome to pass up this time around. They’re killing it with the ambience downstairs - candles, dark colours, wall of leather bound books - and the route to get there is sufficiently unlikely-looking to be satisfying. Bonus points for letting us out a side door when we left. Food and drinks wise: the desserts are incredible. The lava cake and the meringue for the lemon pavlova were both the perfect texture, and the lemon curd was some of the best I’ve ever had. As far as drinks go, the ones downstairs are stronger and more expensive - they’re well-mixed, but if you prefer sweeter or fruitier cocktails the upstairs bar menu will be more to your taste. (Which was actually somewhat irritating - the Aphrodite’s Weakness cocktail pictured below was served to me upstairs while we were waiting, and was still the group favourite at the end of the night.) ”
“ If you know, you know. I had the pavlova- light, airy, the lemon curd wonderful. Hubby had peanut butter pie - super decadent. Cocktails were wonderful! ”
“ Great little find in downtown Halifax! They have the best desserts! It is a full bar also. Highly recommend the brownie pie and sticky pudding! ”
“ Ordered a couple of desserts here while visiting Halifax. We got the chocolate torte and peanut butter pie. Both were amazing. Portion were neither too big or small. And they weren't very sweet. In a good way. Nicely balanced flavours. Good place to go if you're looking to sit down and satisfy those dessert cravings. ”
“ What a cool place to grab a dessert! Great atmosphere, and I didn’t even get to see the speakeasy. I got the peanut butter pie, per the recommendation from Emma. The coffee was a nice touch, too. Go and check it out when you can. Also, speakeasy nights are Friday and Saturday! ”
“ Beautiful place! The dessert is.... sorry trying to find the proper word.... DEE-LISH!!! Generous portions too! I definitely recommend their drink menu and making sure to experience their underground bar too. This is not a place that you can go to based solely off of a google review, you MUST experience it for yourself!! ”
“ Cute little dessert place with a hidden secret... give your waitress the password of the day, and she'll whisk you away to a hidden Speakeasy. Our desserts were divine, and our drinks were delectable. Special mention to our waitress... I didn't get her name, but her energy and bubbliness was so contagious and refreshing. ”
“ I had a pleasant experience ordering a cupcake bouquet from the middle spoon (noble) for a micro wedding. I was in contact with Lacey. She was very thorough and well organized. When the pastry chef ran late for pickup, she was well adaptive to the situation. She managed to still deliver the cupcakes before the wedding and communicated well through the process. ”
